The Michigan Homebrew Festival (MHF) is a homebrew community-focused member event that fosters education, engagement, and networking for its members. The MHF got its start in the summer of ’09, as an annual pig roasting event which was hosted by the Shiawassee County Area Brewers Society and the Cass River Homebrew Club. Each year the event became more and more successful, soon they found themselves inviting other clubs to share in the event. As interest grew, it became evident to the clubs that the homebrewing community wanted a reason to come together. Forging ahead these two clubs agreed to surrender their annual pig roast and created the nonprofit we now call the MHF. Keeping with the traditions set forth by these founding clubs, the doors have been opened to allow memberships for anyone interested in homebrewing (over the age of 21 of course!).  Homebrew clubs come from all over our great state to promote their clubs, participate in competitions, sample, and enjoy the finely crafted beverages offered by other clubs, promote the homebrewing hobby, and share their knowledge and appreciation of brewing great beer and mead! Adding to the festivities, the Michigan Beer Cup Awards Ceremony is held Saturday as well as the Iron Brewer awards. Membership is required to participate in the MHF annual camping event at Camp Agawam in Lake Orion – our largest and most anticipated club meeting of the year! Memberships can be purchased online through our website or on-site at our annual event.
