Membership Information
Michigan Homebrew Festival membership is open to anyone 21 years or older. A membership is required to participate in club activities.
Because the festival involves sampling alcoholic beverages, all members must present a valid driver’s license for age verification. This is mandatory—failure to provide proof of age will result in denial of membership.
Members who wish to consume alcohol must display their membership card visibly at all times, as it confirms they are registered and of legal drinking age. Anyone found drinking without a visible membership card will be asked to retrieve it or obtain a replacement. Failure to comply may result in removal from the festival.
If your guest or significant other does not plan to drink or participate in festival activities, a membership is not required. However, if they decide to drink or are found consuming alcohol, they will be required to purchase a membership.
Membership Conduct Policy
Any and all memberships may be suspended or revoked at the organization’s discretion due to inappropriate, disruptive, or confrontational behavior. This applies to all individuals and includes, but is not limited to:
- Aggressive, confrontational, or hostile conduct toward others
- Personal attacks or harassment based on political differences, including actions driven by strongly held viewpoints or activism
- Inappropriate conduct, including sexually inappropriate behavior
- Excessive consumption of alcohol or other substances that results in impaired judgment, unsafe conditions, or disruptive behavior
Political beliefs of any kind do not justify harassment, intimidation, or targeted behavior toward others. All members are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and maintain a safe, professional, and inclusive environment at all times.
Festival staff retain full authority to manage and resolve any disputes. Determinations regarding disciplinary action, including removal or expulsion, will be made at the discretion of festival staff and require agreement by no fewer than three (3) staff members. All such decisions are final.
